Welcome to Kathy Greiner's K-3 Computer Classroom!
View original image in a new window. Happy last week of school!

It has been my privilege to teach your child(ren) this year. They brought me much joy and sometimes taught me more than I taught them! As we all look forward to the summer, I wanted to take a moment to let you know of some computer activities that will be available during the summer.

Keyboarding Without Tears (KWT) is the fantastic program that we use to learn keyboarding at school. Your child can access it through my website under the Keyboarding Tab. The educator pin is 6D5118. If your child does not remember their secret code, please email me and I will forward it to you. KWT will be available until Aug. 5. At that time the program will shift to next year. I have challenged all students leaving grades 1-3 to a goal that is written at the bottom of the attached page. If your child reaches their goal, there will be a small treat waiting for them at the beginning of next school year. In addition, if your child completes all of KWT, please let me know so I can drop off brownies at your house to celebrate! A crown and glitter will come when we return in August! There are also other keyboarding games that they can play. Please encourage your child to keep their fingers on the home row and to try not to look down. If possible, keyboarding over the summer for just 10-15 minutes a couple times per week will really improve their skills.

Tinkercad is available for all children who were in grades 1 through 3 this year. Your child is welcome to create over the summer. They must access Tinkercad through my website. Their nickname is their first name and the first initial of their last name. There are no capital letters or spaces. (ex. kathyg) Please check my website for the “rules” for printing. I will email you when your print is ready, and they can be picked up in the school office or at my house, right up the street from school.

There are many safe, educational, fun games on my webpage. If allowed, your child can access them all summer.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me via email: kgreiner@smshp.com or on my cell: 513-884-8255.

I am always amazed by my students. They are flexible, kind, and understanding. They worked hard and achieved much! I am proud of each and every one of them, and thankful for the love and support shown to me over this year. Have a wonderful summer!

Mrs. Greiner
