Welcome to Mrs. Hunter's 2nd Grade Classroom Home!
View original image in a new window. Here is a little information about me: I have been a part of Southeastern schools for as long as I can remember. I started in kindergarten and went through graduation. I then graduated from Wright State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I received my Master's Degree from the University of Dayton. I have spent my whole teaching career at Miami View. I have taught fifth through eighth grade math, first grade, fourth grade, and second grade. Second grade is my favorite!

I am married, and my husband and I have two sons, Aaron and Garrett. My boys are also Southeastern grads. We also have two dogs. Palmer is a small white maltipoo with a giant personality. Sophie is also a maltipoo. She is apricot in color and is smaller than Palmer.

My favorite subject in school has always been math. I love to look for patterns and solve problems. I hope my love for math spills over to my students and will make them love math too.

A few times each week, my students will work on timed tests. These tests consist of 100 problems, and students are timed for 5 minutes. Each student will start with addition, then move to subtraction when all addition tests are passed. Anyone finishing subtraction will move on to multiplication, then division. Please work with your child on addition and subtraction facts at home. This will help ensure that your child is successful in math. PRACTICE MAKES PERMANENT!
