my photo Welcome 2nd Graders and their Families!

I'm so excited to be your child's second grade teacher this year. The year will bring so many new learning and growing opportunities in multiple ways. I am lucky to be a part of your child's journey, as they ready their hearts to receive the body and blood of Jesus. When students make their First Communion their souls become more united to Jesus Christ, and our Catholic community. Although sometimes viewed as a nervous preliminary step to making our First Communion, the sacrament of Reconciliation prepares us to receive Jesus' grace. Second grade will also bring a special big brother or sister relationship with an 8th grade buddy.

I personally love teaching, and can't imagine waking up in the morning and not coming to OLV. The best part besides the hugs and sweet notes, are the look in their eyes when they are so fascinated and pumped about learning. Also, I chuckle when the look in their eyes say, "That lady is a bit crazy." OK, OK, I have been known to sing a bit ........OK a lot! Have happy dancing feet! And imitate a place value ogre! We have fun throughout our day, but the students know that I have high expectations for them, and always expect them to try their personal best. Mistakes are expected, allowed, and never judged.

My family consists of my husband of 28 years, and my three children. My middle child was just married this past June. Enjoy this time with your little ones, it truly passes so fast. Besides God and my family, I love three things: 1. Sports (Lions, Tigers, Pistons, Redwings) 2. Coffee (DD and McDonald's) 3. Yoga.

Parents are a child's first and most important teacher. For this reason and the success of your child, I would like to build a strong school and home partnership. Open communication is vital for this to happen. You will receive a weekly class newsletter, can refer to this class website, and will be receiving daily reports. If for any reason you have a question, please reach out and contact me.

God Bless,

Mrs. Livingstone
