Classroom Home {2017-2018}

Mr. Mills was born and raised on the west-side of Cincinnati. He attended grade school primarily at Our Lady of the Visitation School and then attended Elder High School. While at Elder he participated in numerous ensembles including The Elder Glee Club, Ensemble, Vocal Ensemble and Show Choir. He also participated in musicals at both Seton High School and Mercy High School. After high school, Mr. Mills attended Northern Kentucky University study Music Education. While at NKU he participated in The Northern Chorale, NKU Man Choir, Early Music Ensemble, JustTones Modern Music Ensemble and the NKU Chamber Choir. In 2012 the Chamber Choir participated in the World Choir Games earning a Gold Medal and the Varna, Bulgaria Spring Choral Competition earning a silver medal. Mr. Mills studied piano with Dr. Diana Belland, organ with Nina Key-Campbell and Katie Barton, and voice with Dr. Scott Wyatt and Dr. Grant Knox. He graduated NKU in 2013 with honors. Mr. Mills' first teaching position was at Saint Agnes School in Fort Wright, KY. He would also be hired at Saint Henry School in Elsmere, KY the following year. He taught preschool through 8th grade general music along with directing each school's choir for Masses. Along with his current position at Saint Mary, Mr. Mills is the Music Director at Saint Simon Parish in Delhi. Since graduating NKU, Mr. Mills has completed an Orff-Schulwerk Certification at CCM and has begun his Masters Degree in Music Education at Miami University. In his free time, Mr. Mills enjoys spending time with his wife Kelly who is a Music Teacher for Cincinnati Public Schools. We enjoy running, attending sporting events (FC Cincinnati especially), hiking and attending concerts.
